MS in Athletic Training

The Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.) program will put you on the leading edge of an emerging and in-demand area of health care.

The IU School of Public Health-Bloomington is known nationally and internationally for the quality of its graduate programs. This two-year professional degree program includes a rigorous combination of classroom, clinical, and research experiences that exposes you to the continuum of care in the athletic training profession.

In this program you will:

  • Learn strategies to help individuals and communities take control of and improve their physical and mental health through courses on the social and behavioral determinants of health and the philosophy and principles of health education;
  • Gain the necessary skills and learn best practices for assessing health needs and designing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs;
  • Build and apply research skills through projects with faculty and fellow students; and
  • Develop professional skills through a capstone project that can be completed in a variety of settings afforded by the Bloomington community.

Graduates of the MSAT program boast a 100% pass rate on the BOC exam and a 100% job placement rate within six months of graduation.
