Director of Online Education:
The School of Public Health Office of Online Education (SPH OOE) Director is responsible for the efficient operation of the Office of Online Education in six areas: student services, program administration, faculty development, online course design and development, resource coordination, and teaching. Online Education Program Senior Faculty Advisor:
Dr. Lesa Huber is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Public Health and the School of Education. The former Director of the Office of Online Education in the School of Public Health, she now serves as Senior Faculty Advisor. She has twice received the Teaching Excellence Recognition Award (TERA), twice received the Trustees Teaching Award, is a member of IU FACET, Delta Gamma, and is a Fellow in the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education. She is the 2013 recipient of the Hiram S. Friedman Award for mentorship. She developed and is the director of two minors and a graduate certificate in gerontology. At IU she has developed online courses and programs designed to educate current and future aging services workforces. Her service work includes chair and elected positions at local, state, and national levels. Her primary research interests are in the biological, psychological, and social determinants of aging well and pedagogy in online environments. She has been a PI or Co-PI on grants totaling over 2 million in research funding and given over 140 presentations nationally and internationally.
Lead Instructional Designer:
The Lead Instructional Designer works with the SPH OOE team to develop and design quality and compliant courses. The Lead Designer also works with the SPH OOE Director and Senior Faculty Advisor in formulating tactical and strategic responses to instructional design needs across all online offerings including, but not limited to, online course design, webinars, workshops, and professional development initiatives. With the expertise on the knowledge of educational theories and their application to college teaching, the Lead Designer works with faculty, supporting and guiding faculty design decisions for methods of content delivery and assessment of learning.
The Instructional Designer works with the SPH OOE team to develop and design quality and compliant courses. Ahmed is a designer, a scholar, and an educator. In his current role, he collaborates with SPH faculty and OOE Design Team to design and develop online, face-to-face, and hybrid courses for both graduate and undergraduate SPH programs. He also provides consultations and design solutions for high-impact academic initiatives and programs, such as online webinars, large online training, and workshops, for faculty and students. Ahmed Lachheb received the award for outstanding instructional design practice by the Design and Development Division of the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT).
The Instructional Designer works with the SPH OOE team to develop and design quality and compliant courses. Victoria (also goes by Vicky) is currently a Doctoral student in Instructional Systems Technology. Her professional experience in higher education spans over 10 years. Since joining the SPH Office of Online Education in 2017 she has worked on about 50 different course design projects, including the design of fully online and blended courses. Victoria received the award for outstanding instructional design practice by the Design and Development Division of the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT). She is also a three-time recipient of the Jerrold E. Kemp IST Fellowship Award given to doctoral and postdoctoral students to conduct their independent design and development projects.
