Planned New Programs in 2018

MPH in Behavioral, Social, and Community Health (BSCH), Public Health Administration (PHA), and Physical Activity (PA)

Planned new program structure with options for: A) Dual concentrations in BSCH, PHA, and PA or B) Single concentration in BSCH, PHA, or PA with topical graduate certificate, pending approvals.

The School of Public Health-Bloomington is one of the first Schools of Public Health to offer an MPH program in compliance with the new requirements of the Council on Education for Public Health.

By choosing IU-Bloomington for your MPH degree, you will gain training in systems-level issues in public health. The new program offers you opportunities for increased flexibility in your concentration coursework, allows you to pursue the dual concentration in BSCH, PHA, or PA simultaneously, or provides an opportunity to concurrently earn a graduate certificate in an area of interest to you, without having to take additional courses.

The new program of study is planned to be in place for those who are intending to start the program in Fall, 2018.

Please use the link in the Program Information navigation bar to download a draft of the preliminary summary of proposed degree requirements. Minor changes may take place; this page will be updated to reflect any changes.

When you submit your application in SOPHAS, you must choose either the Behavioral, Social, and Community Health, Public Health Administration, or the Physical Activity  concentration. Once you join us at IU during the Fall 2018 semester, you will have the option to either select both concentrations, or choose a graduate certificate to accompany the concentration into which you have been admitted.

We are excited to be one of the first Schools of Public Health to offer an MPH degree that will provide you with the training to address 21st century public health needs. We are looking forward to reviewing your application.
